In 1996, founder and chief instructor Chris Boughey opened theNorth west Chinese Kickboxing association. He chose the name Chinese Kickboxing as it is an old translation of Kung fu. He sought to blend the traditional flowing art of Kung fu with its open handed strikes and blocking with the powerful punching and kicking found in western kickboxing. The result speaks for itself with the organisation competing nationally and internationally in kickboxing.
